To the Ordinary Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. de C.V.
Dear shareholders,
During 2021, we continued operating in a complex macroeconomic and social context; the COVID-19 pandemic continued to change work, study, and entertainment schemes. The new normal requires more and better connectivity services for the entire population; therefore, Megacable remained a strong competitor in the market, providing essential services of the highest quality and connecting more and more Mexicans, in line with our vision of being the best telecommunications company.
We achieved a 5.6% increase in unique subscribers vs 2020.
Within the current competitive market outlook, at
Megacable we took advantage of market
opportunities to maintain the loyalty of our
subscribers, improve our services and undertake
projects to expand our Company to new territories.
During 2021, the demand for our products continued
to grow; Mexican families trust Megacable to meet
their daily connectivity needs, they expect
greater bandwidth, connection and speed. For this
reason, we began the Network Evolution project,
with which we provide state-of-the-art services
through solid and innovative infrastructure. We
made significant investments to migrate part of
our subscribers to fiber, while increasing the
capacity of the territories that remained with HFC
technology and further enhancing our value offer,
completing 85% of the project by the end of 2021.
Likewise, we commenced investments for the
expansion to new markets with this technology; the
adoption of fiber is an important element for this
growth and the future Megacable.
Thus, in order to supplement our value offer, we
launched our Xview+ service, which offers a
personalized and interactive video experience.
This innovative product integrates linear
television content with streaming services on a
single platform, which facilitates and improves
the way users enjoy the video service. Thanks to
this new product, we continued to register growth
in this service’s subscribers throughout 2021.
As one of the largest telecommunications companies
by number of subscribers, we have the commitment
and responsibility to support social progress,
increase economic well-being and contribute to
protecting the environment, both in Mexico and in
the world. Hence, we continued to increase our
processes’ efficiency, promoting recycling and the
paperless campaign to reduce our consumption,
emissions and waste. Likewise, we are an agent of
change in the communities where we operate,
impacting local economies by generating jobs and,
above all, by providing connectivity services to
the population, which triggers social development
through access to education.
Thanks to our strong foundations and our efforts
to exceed customer expectations, we have set
ourselves apart from any telecommunications
company; our results and metrics prove that we
have an experienced team, cost discipline and a
strong focus on long-term goals, which makes us a
profitable and enduring business. For this reason,
we are able to make a difference in the daily life
of our subscribers and contribute to the
well-being of society.
At Megacable we focused on identifying and taking
advantage of opportunities to grow and improve,
handling difficult situations in the best possible
way. During 2021, we demonstrated our resilience
and ability to adapt once again, accomplishing
significant progress. Nevertheless, we know that
great challenges lie ahead in the coming years as
the world continues to battle COVID-19. We begin
2022 with optimism and with a defined strategy to
achieve our growth and profitability goals.
The resilience shown this year by our employees,
members of the Board and all the people who are
part of Megacable was extraordinary; without them,
our achievements in the year would not have been
